Nonetheless preparing for the exam is one of the challenging part. One is never sure on what to cover and feeling everyone else is better. However, cracking the CAT is the simplest thing to do with the right tips.
- Settle and concentrate
Concentration is the key factor to good grades. You have to settle you mind and start serious studies without thinking of what you haven’t done. Ease you mind and start studying on what you know before going to new stuff. This will only bring confusion and distress, don’t start on new topics when exam is due it just make you concentration poor.
- Syllabus and reference books
Use the syllabus as the guide book, cover the topics given and concentrate to ensure they are well polished. Syllabus also help in choosing the right reference books. Go for known publishers and authors according to the subject.
- Time management
Allocating time to each subject will help you cover a lot. Give the weaker areas time and ensure to get help from trainers for more understanding. Start from what is known to unknown, have breaks in order to take a new subject. Never study two subjects at the same time.
- Test and past papers
This the best way to weigh your performance, use question papers to answer different questions. This gives you the exam patterns and how to tackle the set questions. Use the papers to see the topic from the syllabus what is recent and what hasn’t been set for long.
- Mathematical formulae
Practice on the formulae and understand the mathematical concepts. Use papers to tackle the math and apply the formulae where needed. Note don’t memorize the math formulae; this will confuse you if the question setting is different.
In the sections that require English language, just practice on reading many materials. This will help you be conversant and comprehend the language.
- Rest and relaxing
Don’t over burden yourself, have time to sleep, eat and enjoy with friends. It shouldn’t consume much of your time but allocate an hour for relaxing of sleeping. Sleep for the recommended time and then continue with your revision plans.
- Group discussions
In most cases last minute revision is done by self-study. This helps you concentrate and learn where you haven’t covered. Notably revising as a group helps a lot as you will hear knew stuff which you grasp from the fellow student. It sticks better since you will remember who said it and how you all solved the issue.
